From the reviews of the Nvidia write-up, some of you wanted a more in-depth story. So here it is. It took me a little longer than expected, but I am happy with the outcome. Hope you are too, and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss future posts!
I never happened to read Google's history until now. The most fascinating facts were from the early phase of the struggle. One, that Google was actually Googol, w.e.i.r.d. haha. And the garage where they used to work belonged to Wojcicki, who got appointed as YouTube's CEO. Unsure if this has to do with Larry/Sergey's contact with her because Google acquired YouTube in 2006, soooo. So you helped me gain some knowledge through your blog. Continue the good work.
Glad you were able to gain some knowledge and I had the same thoughts when writing it about the Googol part. Thanks for reading it, and have a good day!
The name Google being a typo has to be the most interesting fun fact I’ve heard. Amazing work, I have so much respect for the research that was put into it
I still remember the first days Google went live, I was working in a lab, and one of the doctors’ daughters pulled it up to show us. Just a clean white page and that strange name. None of us knew we were looking at the start of something that would rewrite the internet. Fascinating to see how far it’s come. This brought back the moment like it was yesterday.
I still remember watching a search finish in under a second and thinking, this can’t be real. Now I barely notice. Wild how fast wonder becomes normal.
What a ride from dorm room to global domination. It's incredible how a simple idea, mixed with relentless focus, can change everything. Thanks for laying it all out so clearly and engagingly!
Keep this style of writing, it really works for you. Honestly, this isn’t usually my vibe, but I promised myself I’d read all kinds of topics with an open mind, and I’m genuinely glad I did. I actually loved this.
You’ve got a gift for pulling the reader in without overwhelming them. It flowed so smoothly I didn’t realize how much I’d taken in until I got to the end. Really glad I stopped by, looking forward to seeing what you write next.
I worked as an agency writer for Google from 2012 to 2017, and I was embedded at the Googleplex in Mountain View. During that time, I got to know one of the first marketing writers, and I learned that the founders didn't believe in marketing. In fact, their motto was 'Marketing without marketing.' They thought their product was so revolutionary, so groundbreaking, that they wouldn't need any fancy "fluff" to share the news of their remarkable technology. Their motto "Do No Evil" was a corollary belief, and, in my opinion, paralleled their distrust of marketing. Now, 25 years later, they have a multi-billion-dollar marketing budget, serious brand challenges, and an impending break-up. Oh, how far they have come (read: fallen). ;-]
Thank you for this extra perspective. I remember reading about their motto, but did not know about their marketing retaliation. Also, yeah, I see their advertisement all the time now through F1 mainly (being on a certain car)

Doing the finance thing is something I should've paid more attention to when I was young. Don't be me.
I wish I got into it a little younger as well
